Harold Alan Querner

June 25, 1941 ~ October 15, 2021 (age 80)

Harold Alan Querner, 80, of Katy, Texas, entered eternal rest Friday, October 15, 2021, at his home in Katy, Texas. He was a San Antonio native and longtime resident of Devine, Texas.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 2:30pm at The Fellowship Church, 22765 Westheimer Parkway, Katy, Texas.  Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 1:45 in the afternoon.

Harold was born June 25, 1941, in Yoakum, Texas.  He was a science teacher at McCollum High School in San Antonio from the start of his teaching career until retirement.  In addition to coaching and helping support the school athletic teams, he farmed his land in Devine bailing hay and raising goats. Harold loved the peacefulness and freedom he had on the farm, humbly holding his service as a combat medic in the Vietnam War close to his heart.  He most enjoyed fishing, driving, hunting, and watching his grandchildren play.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Dee Querner, mother, Eloise Turner, and brother, William Douglas “Doug” Querner.

His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Diane Querner, his loving daughter, Kim Querner Chiboroski, son-in-love Craig, and his adoring grandchildren Hannah Grossman, Lauren Chiboroski and Craig Jr “CJ” Chiboroski, and brother, Wayne Turner, all of Katy; nephew, Arthur Querner and family of Jourdanton and niece, Sharra Querner of Kingwood.

Harold endured and bravely fought a number of diseases in his last years, staying strong, continuously providing and loving his family unselfishly through it all.  Nothing was more important to him than family values and helping others. For this, his family will always be grateful.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr Monica Desai and nurse Bahati, Dr Bhakti Gidvani, Kathleen at the Infusion Center, Cornerstone Caregiving, and Blue Star Hospice for their compassionate and genuine care of our dad and grandpa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Lung Association, your local blood donation center, or local VFW.  The family would also be eternally grateful for the gift of blood donation to all those in need.
