Frank Johnson

Frank Everett Johnson left behind all who loved him on March 3, 2021.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with a visitation to begin at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Father Chacko Puthumayil. Burial will be at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery. Frank's 9 grandsons will be his "Polar Bears" and his 2 granddaughters will do readings.

Frank was born July 4, 1947 in Port Chester, New York and moved to Texas when he was 18 months old. He was a graduate of Texas City High School, Class of 1965. He volunteered for the Army in 1967 during the Viet Nam War. He served in Viet Nam from 1968-1969. Like so many young men who served, he came back a different person after seeing the carnage of War.

He is preceded in death by the father of his heart, James F. (Jimmy) Reegan. He and Daddy had a great love for one another and were hunting, fishing and camping buddies. They would spend hours watching old black and white movies together.

Frank is survived by his wife of 52 years and 8 months, Jenny Reegan Johnson. Mother of his heart, mom (Reable Reegan) with whom he shared an abiding love. He is also survived by his 3 children, his pride and joy, Chad Aric Johnson (Celia), Ryan Alex Johnson (Jessica) and Kara Lynn Johnson Quintanilla (Al). He is also survived by 3 brothers of his heart, Danny Reegan (Lynie), Randy Reegan (Anne) and Ronny Reegan (Jeri). We were blessed with 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Tristen (Jalin), Brenden, Genaro, Kovi, Blake, Ryan, Chase, Emma, Camden and Kendall. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter Excinia Ann-Alise.

Frank looked forward to all the holiday gatherings at Mama and Daddy's with his entire family and friends who became family. He especially enjoyed his "Lovin' Feelings" family and the memorable pre-concert trips to Chili's. He loved music and he loved dancing. We spent years dancing in our kitchen first alone and then with kids and then grandkids and then alone again.

Frank, I thank you for enduring all the suffering, unrest and confusion for all these years because I begged you to fight to live and not leave me. I understand now how much you loved me because you stayed. It's my turn to love you enough to understand why you had to go. There will never be a day I won't want you to walk through our door and call my name. I will love you and miss you with my last breath.

"I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you. And then I realized, you spent the rest of your life with me."

Life is much too short to not dance in your kitchen.
