Epifanio Mata

Epifanio V. Mata, 98, of Dickinson, passed away March 28, 2023 at his place of residence.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church of Texas City. Burial will follow at Forest Park East.  Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Epifanio V. Mata was born April 7, 1924, in Villa De Guadalupe, Mexico.  He was employed in Galveston for over ten years. Epifanio enjoyed watching soccer and was an avid Houston Astros fan. He loved playing cards with his mother-in-law and his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa Ortiz De Mata; his children, Felix Mata, Pablo Mata, Ester Rodriquez, Nico Jaurigue, Juan Jose Mata, and Tere Lara; 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jose Orozco, Juan Orozco, Luis Orozco, Jose Mata, Juan Mata, Jr., and Samel Mata.
