Emery Fontenot

Emery Fontenot, 83, of Texas City, passed away Friday. April 21, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Webster.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday May 3, 2023, with a visitation starting at 5:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Emery was born August 1, 1939, in Lafayette, Louisiana.  He was a master plumber at Anco Plumbing for 40 years, and he was a member of Plumber’s Local Union 68.  He served three years in the U. S. Marine Corps.  He had been heavily involved in the Texas City Little League, where he once served as Vice President.  Emery was also an avid fisherman, hunter, and shrimper.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Fontenot; brothers, Nukie and Herman, and sisters, Hilda, Juanita, Helen, and Carolene.

Survivors include wife, Lillian Fontenot; son, Michael Scott Fontenot and wife Heather, and granddaughter Colette Fontenot.  He is also survived by brothers, James, Henry, and Donald, and sister Carol.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Galveston County Animal Resource Center in Texas City, TX.
