Obituary

Edmund Wallace, 83, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at St. John’s United Methodist Church. Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City will be taking care of his cremation and his remains will be placed at a later date.

Edmund Wallace was born May 26, 1938 in New York City, NY.  He committed 20 years of his life to the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring, he was employed for a short time at Pacemaker Inc. Shortly after that, he worked for Eaton Corporation, formally known as Bunker-Ramo, in Westlake, CA. There he designed military equipment that detects land mines and provided training for the soldiers to use the equipment. He also worked with several other government contracts while employed at Eaton Corporation including designing equipment for NASA. He retired from Eaton Corporation where he had worked for almost two decades.

Throughout this time he was committed to his children and their well-being. He was a positive role model and a father figure that anyone would be proud to call Dad.

His marriage to Barbara were some of his best and happiest years of his life. They traveled the country and had many great adventures that he loved to capture on camera. He would always tell everyone how much of a difference her positive attitude had changed him to be the best version of himself.

He is preceded in death by his eldest son Robert, parents Helen Glemann and John Wallace and siblings John (Jack) Wallace, John W Armstrong, and Shirley J Wallace.

He is survived his wife Barbara, four children David, Matthew, Helen, and Karen. As well as, grandchildren Ashley, Jeremy, Marisa, Reese, Riley, Sara, Toriana, Tyler, Devon, Megan and Nicole. Including many, nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers, Wounded Warrior Project or St. John’s UMC in Texas City, TX.
