Charles R. "Chuck" Scherring

Charles R. Scherring, 87, of Dickinson, TX, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at his home residence.

Charles R. Scherring was born July 19,1934 in Blue Island, Illinois. Chuck attended the University of the Arizona Society of Civil Engineers. Charles then moved to Texas from Tucson, Arizona in 1962 and was employed by Lloyd Welch Auto Damage Appraisers, becoming manager of the Galveston Branch office. In December 1976, Charles was employed by American Indemnity group in Galveston and became manager of physical damage, salvage, and subrogation. Chuck retired from American Indemnity Group in December 1998. He had been a member of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigations, Texas Association of Vehicle Theft Investigators, and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed fishing, photography, traveling and yard work.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Sarah Scherring; brother and sister-in law Fred E. and Jane B. Scherring.

Chuck’s wishes were to be cremated and that there will be no services of any kind.
