Raymond Peralez, Jr., 83, a lifetime resident of Texas City, Texas, valiantly battled cancer and passed away Monday, October 8, 2018.
He was born in Galveston, Texas, on September 14, 1935, son to Raymond Peralez, Sr. and Juanita Navarro Peralez. Raymond was married to Maurilia Ruiz Peralez for 54 years. He was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and worked at Galveston Shipbuilding.
Holy Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church of Texas City with Father Chacko Puthumayil officiating. Burial will follow at La Marque Cemetery, 1709 S. Oak Street La Marque, Texas 77568. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2018 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Deacon John Carrillo at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
Raymond is preceded in death by his wife, Maurilia Ruiz Peralez; parents Raymond Peralez, Sr. and Juanita Navarro Peralez; brother Louis Peralez, grand-daughter Christina Marie Peralez; aunts, Elena Navarro and Petra Navarro; uncles, Manuel Navarro and Pete Navarro.
Survivors include sons, Raymond Peralez, III and wife Grace (Houston, TX); Robert Peralez and wife Nelda (San Antonio, TX); Richard Peralez and wife Terry (Santa Fe, TX); daughter, Marcela Peralez Holzworth and husband Ralph (Colorado Springs, CO); grandchildren, Kristina and Katrina Peralez (Houston, TX); Clarissa Rivera and husband Will (San Antonio, TX); Andrew Peralez and wife Johanna (Houston, TX); Jessica and Jacob Peralez (Santa Fe, TX); great grandchildren, William and Noa Rivera (San Antonio, TX); Leonardo Andres Peralez (Houston, TX); nephew Joel Peralez (Texas City, TX); cousin Mickie Mejia (Houston/Katy, TX); and numerous other extended family members.
Pallbearers are Raymond Peralez, III, Richard Peralez; Robert Peralez, Andrew Peralez, Willard Ray Higgins, and Honorary Pallbearer William Rivera.
