We were both so sorry to hear about Carolyn's passing. We were out of town for the funeral services. I went to work in 1981 as a loan officer at First Bank of LaMarque and Louis was my mentor. We met Carolyn and shortly thereafter became very good friends. We had many conversations about their trips to New Orleans, La which happens to be our home town and to Eureka Springs, Ark. We actually took their advice and stayed in the same motel as they did. They were both really good people. After Louis passed away I lost contact but I now know she is up their with her beloved Louis. They will both be missed.

My sincerest condolences for your loss. I was the Director of Events for the Galveston Historical Foundation for a time and had a wonderful relationship with Carolyn and Louis. They were such lovely people and dependable volunteers and committee members. It was an honor and pleasure to know them.

So sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. Such a sweet lady. My first job was at TCR and worked with her in accounting. Until Hurricane Harvey washed it away , I had her Chocolate Sheet Cake recipe on a card dated 1976. So I thought of her every time I baked that cake and it was a family and workplace favorite!
My condolences and prayers for the family at this difficult time.
