Robert Teel Himmel, Jr., 62, of Mont Belvieu, Texas for 13 years and La Porte, Texas 11 years prior to that, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Emken – Linton Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior, from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Robert was born February 26, 1957 in Dallas County, Dallas, Texas. He grew up in San Luis Obispo, California and Bishop, Texas as his father’s assigned duty stations as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.

He was a pipeline welder and 510 inspector from CTS in Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Local 798 Pipeline Union. He was known for being an excellent pipeline welder with a high work ethic. He loved traveling across America for work and once to Aruba. He also loved country western dancing, was easy going, and hanging out at Crystal Beach.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Margaret Galiga Himmel of Waxahachie, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Shannon Marie Hicks; his father Robert Teel Himmel, Sr. from the Hill Country in Texas; sister Margaret Jane Sowell Himmel of Waxahachie, Texas; children Randa Marie Himmel Warton and husband Joshua of Baytown, Texas, Brandon Hall Himmel and wife Lindsay of Oceanside, California, Stacey Jae Ramirez and husband Roy of La Porte, Texas, and James Colton Hutchins of La Porte, Texas; grandchildren Kylee and Macie Warton, and Jordyn, Roy Jr., and Gavin Ramirez. His beloved canine companions Sugar and Bella.

    So sad about the passing of my sweet cousin Rob. He was always so thoughtful & kind when his family was in need. I still remember fondly when my father, his “Uncle Billy”, was very sick with cancer, and Rob called us while we were with Dad prior to a serious treatment. His timely phone call meant so much to Dad and to the family. You will be missed cousin Rob!
