Our loving father Ezequiel Villarreal was born October 19, 1933 in a ranch called "El Alamo" outside the city of Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. His mother Juanita Villarreal later married but became a widow at a young age and decided to move to Texas with her three young children; Ezequiel, Margarita and Lupe. There she met and married Luis Aguilar Sr. and gave birth to three more children; Corina, Luis Jr. and Evelia.

Ezequiel was later reunited with his birth father, Rogelio Ayala and was received lovingly by his step mother Ramona Ayala and his sisters and brothers; Olga, Amelia, Rogelio Jr., Rolando, Romeo, Roel and Abel.

In Donna, Texas Ezequiel met and fell in love with Maria Luisa Medrano. They were united in marriage on June 26, 1958 and had 5 children: Ezequiel Jr, Maria Esmeralda, Rosalinda, Jose de Jesus and Anna Maria.

Ezequiel worked hard as an agricultural migrant worker for many years and in hopes of his children obtaining a higher education, he decided to settle in Davenport, Iowa in August 1975. There he attended the Apostolic Assembly Church of Bettendorf, Iowa along with his family and lifelong friend Pedro Sauceda (Brother Pete). In 1987, after the tragic death of their daughter, Rosalinda, they moved back to Donna, Texas; where they continued to work together inviting many to hear the Word of God at bible study groups in their home.

In October of 2017, Ezequiel lost his loving wife to cancer, soon after, his health began to diminish quickly with the onset of Alzheimer's. In January 2019, he was hospitalized with pneumonia and even in pain; he joined our Pastor Mata in singing praises to God. Without abandoning his faith in God, he accepted that God was calling him to His heavenly home.

Our loving, hardworking father enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending their sports events and special celebrations.

On the morning of February 15, 2019, our beloved father, Ezequiel Villarreal went to rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Ezequiel Jr and Sonya Villarreal, Maria Esmeralda and Fernando Rodriguez, Jose de Jesus and Margarita Villarreal and Anna Maria and Tarkan Karadayi. Also, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers and their families: Margarita, Corina, Rogelio Jr., Rolando, Romeo, Roel and Abel. To his many nieces and nephews, he will always be remembered as their Uncle Cheque.

"Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you." John 16:22

Special gratitude to Pastor Juan Mata, Texas City Apostolic Assembly family, Nephew Armando Trevino and friends at Liva Novas and the Corps of Engineers.
