Matthew Gustke, 18, League City, passed away, Friday, September 8, 2017 in League City.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church in League City located at 1612 East Walker Street. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a vigil starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Matthew was born December 27, 1998 in Webster, Texas. He was a 2017 graduate of Dickinson High School and planned to attend College of the Mainland.

Survivors include mother, Lisa Gustke; sister, Kristen Gustke; brother, Aaron Gustke and his father, Scott Gustke; grandparents, (Dama) Virginia Garcia and John Pena, (Paw Paw) Arcadio Rodriguez and (Grandpa and Grandma Gustke) Robert and Anne.

Pallbearers are Kristen Gustke, Aaron Gustke, Andy Rodriguez, Hayden English, Samuel Sanford and Matthew Fulcher.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Go Fund Me page to help aid in funeral expenses at https://www.gofundme.com/prayers-for-the-matthew-gutzke. Additional money will be used to set up a scholarship in Matthew's name for a DISD graduate enrolling at COM.

    Matthew I can't even look at this picture of you without crying and hurting..I'm suppose to be looking at you telling you and Matthew to be careful driving..or texting you asking you if Matthew is with you or can you give Matthew a ride..but now I'm having to tell you that you will truely be missed by many..and may you rest at ease..Matthew will forever cherish yalls friendship...you will forever be in our heart....we love you!

    I will always treasure the times you made us laugh, yes you were quit and shy but your smile would light up the entire room. Always upstairs cracking jokes until the wee hours in the morning playing Xbox. We love you Matthew and you will be missed . We will never forget you. Love Tyler Heather and family
